The Kano State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned political singer, Muhammadu Buhari, popularly known as Kosan Waka, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 47.
In a statement issued by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late singer, especially his mother, as well as his friends, associates, admirers and the people of Kano State.
According to the family, Kosan Waka will be laid to rest on Sunday in Tsanni Village, Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Governor Yusuf described the late singer as a patriotic son of Katsina who made Kano his home and used his music to promote unity, cultural values and public enlightenment beyond political boundaries.
The Governor prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, expand his grave and give his family the strength to bear the painful loss.
Kosan Waka was widely regarded as one of Kano’s most celebrated political musicians. His creativity, powerful lyrics and captivating performances earned him admiration across Nigeria, while his contributions to political communication and Hausa entertainment left a lasting legacy.
Governor Yusuf also joined the entertainment industry and millions of admirers across the country in mourning the late singer, praying that Allah grants him eternal rest.
