
The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, PhD, has called on students to uphold discipline, respect for the law and good moral values as they prepare to become responsible leaders of the future.
The Commissioner made the call when he paid a visit to Enthuse Entrepreneurship Secondary School, located along State Road in Kano metropolis, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
Comrade Waiya urged the students to remain focused on their studies and make effective use of the opportunities available to them to build a better future for themselves and contribute positively to the development of the nation.
He emphasized the importance of responsible citizenship, discipline and patriotism, noting that the future of Nigeria depends largely on the quality of education, character and values instilled in young people.
The Commissioner also commended the management and teachers of Enthuse Entrepreneurship Secondary School for their efforts and contributions towards the advancement of education in Kano State.
In her remarks, the Principal of the school, Malama Khalid Dankadai, appreciated the efforts of the Kano State Government towards improving the education sector. She also expressed gratitude to Commissioner Waiya for honouring the school with his visit.
Parents and teachers also delivered goodwill messages during the event, highlighting the significance of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary and emphasizing the importance of peace, patriotism, discipline and proper upbringing of young people.
The celebration provided an opportunity for students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders to reflect on Nigeria’s journey since independence and the collective responsibility of citizens in building a peaceful, united and prosperous nation.
