Democracy Must Benefit the Vulnerable, Says KASPA Director General

The Director General of the Kano Social Protection Agency (KASPA), Hon. Fatima Abubakar Abdullahi (Amneef), has congratulated the people of Kano State and Nigerians at large on the occasion of the 2026 Democracy Day celebration.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Kano Social Protection Agency (KASPA), Rabiu Ibrahim Khalil, and made available to newsmen.

In her Democracy Day goodwill message, Hon. Fatima described the annual celebration as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey, reflecting the nation’s collective commitment to democratic governance, freedom, justice, and the rule of law.

She noted that Democracy Day provides an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the sacrifices made by the country’s democratic heroes and renew their commitment to the values of accountability, transparency, inclusiveness, and national unity.

The KASPA Director General commended the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for its continued commitment to people-centred governance and policies aimed at improving the welfare and well-being of the people of Kano State.

According to her, the government’s sustained investments in education, healthcare, social welfare, infrastructure, and human capital development have continued to strengthen public confidence and expand the dividends of democracy across the state.

Hon. Fatima reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to implementing impactful social protection programmes designed to support vulnerable households, reduce poverty, enhance resilience, and promote inclusive development.

“Democracy can only thrive when its benefits are felt by all segments of society, especially the most vulnerable. At KASPA, we remain dedicated to advancing social protection initiatives that safeguard livelihoods, empower communities, and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development,” she stated.

She further called on citizens to support government efforts through peaceful coexistence, active civic participation, and a shared commitment to building a more prosperous and equitable society.

The Director General also prayed for continued peace, stability, and progress in Kano State and Nigeria, urging leaders at all levels to remain committed to selfless service and the pursuit of the common good.

On behalf of the management and staff of KASPA, Hon. Fatima wished Nigerians a peaceful, memorable, and rewarding Democracy Day celebration.

She reiterated the agency’s resolve to continue implementing programmes that improve the living conditions of vulnerable groups and strengthen social protection systems across Kano State.
