Maiduguri, Borno State — Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, alongside the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, led a high-profile delegation of political leaders and dignitaries to the wedding fatiha of members of the family of Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum.
The ceremony, which took place in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, attracted top figures from across the country, including the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, governors, members of the National Assembly, serving ministers, as well as former governors and their deputies.
Vice President Shettima played a key role during the ceremony, serving as Waliyi for Aisha Babagana Zulum. In that capacity, he formally gave the bride in marriage to the son of the Yobe State Deputy Governor, Mohammed Idi Barde.
The Vice President offered prayers for the newlyweds, asking Almighty Allah to bless their union with peace, understanding, and prosperity. He also advised the couples to uphold mutual respect, patience, and commitment as they begin their marital journey.
The event underscored unity among political leaders and highlighted the strong ties between key stakeholders across party lines and regions.
