The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau I. Jibrin, on Saturday attended the wedding fatiha of three children and a cousin of the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, in Maiduguri, the state capital.
The ceremony, which drew prominent political leaders, dignitaries, and well-wishers from across the country, was held in a solemn and celebratory atmosphere in line with Islamic traditions.
Speaking after the event, Senator Barau extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newlyweds, offering prayers for enduring peace, unity, and prosperity in their marriages.
“I pray that Almighty Allah bless their unions, strengthen their bonds, and grant them peaceful and prosperous homes,” he said.
The wedding fatiha reflects the strong cultural and religious values upheld in Northern Nigeria, bringing together families, leaders, and communities in celebration of marriage and unity.
The Senator concluded his remarks with a prayer, saying, “Amin Ya Allah.”
