Vice President Kashim Shettima has praised the ongoing transformation of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), describing the development projects being executed across Abuja as a clear demonstration of the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the lives of citizens.
Speaking during the commissioning of the Collector Road CN2 from Arterial Road N16 to Arterial Road N20, including ILS 5, in Katampe District, the Vice President noted that social and economic life in the nation’s capital is steadily returning as infrastructure development continues to expand across the city.

According to him, the provision of modern road networks and supporting facilities is helping to improve mobility, boost economic activities, and enhance security within communities.
Shettima commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for his commitment to delivering on the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to transform Abuja into a world-class capital city.
He noted that the benefits of good governance are becoming increasingly visible through projects that provide security, mobility, and dignity to residents.
The Vice President further highlighted the installation of solar-powered streetlights along the newly commissioned road, stating that the initiative has significantly improved safety and reduced opportunities for criminal activities in the area.
“Today, Katampe is safer at night. Abuja’s social life is returning, and criminal hideouts are disappearing. These are the dividends of purposeful leadership and good governance,” he said.
He assured residents that the Federal Government would continue to support projects that promote sustainable development, improve infrastructure, and enhance the quality of life of Nigerians.
