The Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside the Honourable Minister of Education of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, officially commissioned the newly constructed Government Girls’ Secondary School (GGSS) in Dan Gwauro, Kumbotso Local Government Area.
The newly built, state-of-the-art educational institution has been named Abba Kabir Yusuf Girls’ Secondary School, in recognition of the Governor’s commitment to expanding access to quality education, particularly for the girl-child.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to investing in modern educational infrastructure, improving learning environments, and ensuring that every child in Kano State has access to quality education.
The project is part of the Kano State Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the education sector through the construction of new schools, rehabilitation of existing facilities, and the recruitment of qualified teachers.
The commissioning of the school marks another significant milestone in the state’s education reform agenda, providing students in Dan Gwauro and surrounding communities with access to a conducive and modern learning environment.
