
Leaders of the Kano State Councillors’ Association have declared their full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The councillors made their position known during a courtesy visit to the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya.
The delegation was led by the Chairman of the association, Comrade Kabir Marakas Dala, who is also the Councillor representing Kantudu.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Marakas Dala said the association would continue to contribute its quota towards ensuring the success of the leaders it supports.
He stated that the association had expressed 100 per cent support for the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, citing the administration’s development initiatives and programmes aimed at improving the lives of people across Kano State.
Responding, Commissioner Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya assured the councillors of his continued support in addressing issues affecting them and ensuring that their concerns are communicated to the relevant authorities, particularly Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Waiya also commended the association’s leadership for choosing his office as the first point of call for their visit, describing the gesture as a sign of confidence, respect and solidarity.
The Commissioner wished the councillors success and sustainable progress in their activities, while reaffirming his commitment to working closely with them towards achieving the interests and aspirations of the people of Kano State.
