The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a change by Max Air in the departure date for the first batch of intending pilgrims scheduled to be airlifted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
In a statement issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman A. Dederi, the inaugural flight, which was initially scheduled for Thursday, 14 May 2026, has now been moved to Friday, 15 May 2026, following adjustments in flight arrangements by Max Air.
According to the statement, the change affects intending pilgrims from four Local Government Areas of Kano State, namely Gwale, Dala, Fagge and Ungogo.
The Board advised all pilgrims from the affected local government areas, who were earlier scheduled to travel on 14 May, to take note of the new departure date and make the necessary adjustments.
While regretting any inconvenience the postponement may have caused, Max Air expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of the intending pilgrims.
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board also reassured pilgrims that adequate arrangements were being put in place to ensure a smooth and successful airlift operation throughout the Hajj exercise.
The Board further stated that it would continue to provide updates and communicate reporting schedules to all intending pilgrims as preparations for the pilgrimage continue.
