
Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has inaugurated the Kano North and Kano South executive leadership of the APC Ex-Councillors Forum (Maslaha).
The Commissioner, who also serves as the Grand Patron of the forum, performed the inauguration ceremony at Mumbayya House, Kano, bringing together former local government councillors, supervisors, party stakeholders and other key stakeholders from the two senatorial districts.
The inauguration marks another significant step in strengthening the structure and activities of the forum across Kano State, following the earlier inauguration of its Kano Central executive leadership.
The APC Ex-Councillors Forum (Maslaha) provides a platform for former elected councillors across Kano State to promote unity, constructive dialogue, grassroots development and democratic participation.
Speaking at the occasion, Comrade Waiya emphasised the important role of experienced grassroots political leaders in mobilising communities, promoting peaceful coexistence and supporting government policies and programmes.
He charged the newly inaugurated executives of Kano North and Kano South to provide purposeful leadership, strengthen internal unity within the forum and work closely with relevant stakeholders towards achieving the shared objectives of development and political stability.
The Commissioner also stressed the importance of leveraging the collective experience of former councillors to strengthen democratic participation at the ward and local government levels.
He reiterated the commitment of the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to inclusive governance and continuous engagement with critical stakeholders across the state.
The inauguration was marked by renewed commitment from members of the forum and a collective resolve to contribute meaningfully to the development of Kano State and support the re-election of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for a second term.
Comrade Waiya commended the leadership and members of the forum for their dedication to promoting the policies and programmes of the state government. He urged them to remain focused, sincere and united in the interest of the people of Kano State.
The ceremony was attended by members of the forum from Kano North and Kano South Senatorial Districts, party stakeholders and other officials of the Kano State Government.
