The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has expressed confidence in the commitment of former APC councillors to the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying they remain genuine members of the party and are ready to work for its success at all levels.
Comrade Waiya stated this during the inauguration of the Kano North and Kano South executives of the Ex-APC Councillors Forum, Maslaha, held at Mumbayya House in Kano.
He said he was convinced that the former councillors would vote for the APC from bottom to top in the forthcoming elections, describing them as important grassroots ambassadors whose experience and contributions have played a significant role in the political development of the state.
The Commissioner assured the former councillors that they would be carried along in relevant government engagements, stressing that their experience and grassroots connections remained valuable to both the government and the party.
He urged the members to remain united under the leadership of the Chairman of the Ex-APC Councillors Forum, Alhaji Sunusi Kata Madobi, whom he described as a good and committed leader who has the interests of his members at heart.
Comrade Waiya called on the former councillors to intensify their mobilisation and campaign for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC as a whole.
He also questioned the political direction being pursued by the former Deputy Governor, stressing that the emerging political arrangement should be centred on the interests of the people of Kano rather than individual or personal interests.
The Commissioner further cautioned the former councillors against any attempt to undermine their chairman, Alhaji Sunusi Kata Madobi, urging them to support and protect the leadership for the success of the forum.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Ex-APC Councillors Forum, Alhaji Sunusi Kata Madobi, appreciated members for their loyalty and commitment, urging them to remain united and continue working towards strengthening the APC at the grassroots.
The inauguration brought together former councillors and other political stakeholders from across Kano State. Members reaffirmed their support for the APC and pledged to mobilise voters for the party from the grassroots to the national level in the forthcoming elections.
