The Kano State Government has donated ₦20 million to support the publication and preservation of the legacy of the late Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo (Jarman Kano) during the presentation and public launch of his biography.
The event, held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Centre for Excellence, Bayero University, Kano, attracted government officials, academics, traditional rulers, family members, associates, and other dignitaries who gathered to celebrate the life and remarkable contributions of the late elder statesman.
Representing the Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, described the late Jarman Kano as an exceptional patriot whose unwavering commitment to the development and progress of Kano State remains an inspiration to present and future generations.
Speaking on behalf of the governor, Waiya announced a ₦20 million donation by the Kano State Government to support the publication of the biography and preserve the enduring legacy of the late statesman.
He said the donation underscores the administration’s commitment to recognising and celebrating distinguished personalities whose selfless service and outstanding contributions have helped shape the history and development of Kano State.
The commissioner also advocated for the immortalisation of the late Alhaji Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo, describing him as a rare gem whose immense contributions to promoting Kano’s reputation and advancing its socio-economic development would forever remain etched in the memories of the people.
According to him, the late Jarman Kano was a proud son of Kano whose exemplary leadership, integrity, and dedication to public service deserve lasting recognition.
“We commend the authors, organizers, and all those who contributed to documenting this important chapter of Kano’s history, and we pray that Almighty Allah grants the late Jarman Kano eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus. Ameen,” Waiya said.
The biography chronicles the life, achievements, and enduring legacy of the late Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo, whose invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Kano State continue to earn widespread admiration.
The event ended with special prayers for the peaceful repose of the late statesman and renewed calls for preserving the legacies of eminent personalities whose sacrifices have contributed immensely to the progress and prosperity of Kano State.
