The Kano Police Command thwarted a violent clash between rival ‘Yan Daba groups in the Gyadi-Gyadi area arrested six suspects and restoring normalcy.

The incident occurred yesterday following a distress call about an impending clash where police teams were swiftly deployed and met the suspects engaged in violence upon arrival.

During the confrontation, an ambulance was vandalised, and attempts were made to attack nearby locations.

The police repelled the attackers despite being pelted with stones and assaulted with dangerous weapons.

The suspects later retreated to the Farm Centre Market, where they attempted to break into shops and loot property before reinforcements arrived to disperse them.

Six suspects were arrested in the operation, while others fled. Authorities confirmed that calm has since returned to the affected areas.

CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended officers for their professionalism and restraint, noting that their prompt response prevented further escalation and damage.

He warned that the command would not tolerate thuggery or any breach of public peace, urging parents and guardians to caution their wards. He also assured that those involved would be brought to justice.

Already investigations are ongoing to apprehend fleeing suspects and identify those behind the clash, while calling on residents to continue providing useful information to security agencies.
