The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Kano State, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has received a delegation of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) in his office in Kano.
The delegation was in the state as part of its visit to Kano to attend and conduct the Guild’s Standing Committee meeting.
During the visit, the NGE delegation held discussions with the Commissioner on issues relating to the media, information management and the role of the media in promoting development and keeping the public informed about government policies and programmes.
Following the meeting, the delegation, accompanied by the Commissioner and other relevant government officials, embarked on an inspection tour of some major development projects being executed by the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The inspection provided the editors with an opportunity to see first-hand some of the ongoing projects across the state and gain a better understanding of the government’s development initiatives and their expected impact on the people of Kano.
The visit also further strengthened the relationship between the Kano State Government and the media, particularly in promoting effective communication, transparency and public awareness of government activities.
