A delegation of the Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE) has visited the Gaya Emirate as part of its ongoing tour of key development projects being executed by the Kano State Government.
The delegation, led by the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Dr Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, at his palace.
The visit formed part of the delegation’s engagement with traditional institutions during the tour, which is aimed at giving the editors an opportunity to see some of the development projects being implemented across the state.
At the palace, the delegation paid homage to the emir and discussed the role of traditional institutions in promoting peace, unity and development.
The Nigeria Guild of Editors is the professional body for editors and senior editorial managers in Nigeria’s media industry. It promotes professionalism, ethical standards and excellence in journalism.
The engagement also highlighted the importance of collaboration among the media, government and traditional institutions in keeping the public informed about development programmes and strengthening communication with communities.
The visit to Gaya formed part of the wider tour of development projects being implemented by the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf across Kano State.
