
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to partnering with Kannywood and the wider creative industry to promote the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Kano First Agenda of his administration.
Governor Yusuf made the commitment when he received the leadership and members of Tripple for Renewed Hope at the Coronation Hall in Kano.
The Governor said his administration would continue to support singers, filmmakers, actors and other creative professionals by creating an enabling environment for them to develop their talents, achieve self-reliance and contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of Kano State.
According to him, the creative industry remains an important avenue for youth empowerment, job creation and the promotion of Kano’s rich cultural heritage.
Governor Yusuf assured Kannywood practitioners that the state government would strengthen its partnership with the industry and support initiatives capable of creating sustainable opportunities for artists and other professionals.
He also urged members of the creative sector to use their platforms responsibly to promote peace, unity, development and the positive image of Kano State.
Speaking during the engagement, popular Hausa singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara described Governor Yusuf as a patient and hardworking leader committed to transforming Kano State.
Rarara commended the Governor for his development efforts and for recognising the important role of Kannywood and the creative industry in the growth of the state.
Also speaking, the Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, expressed confidence that the party would record a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections.
Doguwa said the APC remained committed to ensuring a peaceful, credible and hitch-free election, while expressing optimism that the party would emerge victorious at all levels.
He called on APC members and supporters to remain united and focused on building on what he described as the achievements of the APC-led government in Kano and at the federal level.
The engagement further highlighted the Kano State Government’s commitment to working with Kannywood and other stakeholders in the creative sector to advance economic empowerment, cultural development and the Kano First Agenda.
