Kano, Nigeria – Kano State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Tuesday presided over the official presentation of appointment letters to more than 8,400 newly recruited teachers during a colourful ceremony held at the Sani Abacha Indoor Hall.
The recruitment marks another significant milestone in the administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the education sector by addressing the shortage of qualified teachers across public schools in Kano State. The government has consistently emphasized education as a top priority, with recent initiatives focused on expanding the teaching workforce and improving learning outcomes.
Addressing the new teachers, Governor Yusuf urged them to uphold professionalism, integrity, and dedication in the discharge of their duties, stressing that quality education remains the foundation for sustainable development.
The event was attended by senior government officials, education stakeholders, traditional leaders, and families of the newly employed teachers, who described the exercise as a major boost to Kano’s education system.
