The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has reaffirmed the Kano State Government’s commitment to working closely with stakeholders in the creative industry following a meeting with the leadership and members of the Kannywood support group, “Tsaya da Kafarka.”
The meeting, led by the group’s Chairman, Alhaji Hamisu Iyantama, was held at the Audu Bako Secretariat in Kano, where both parties discussed ways to strengthen collaboration in promoting government programmes and fostering public engagement.
Speaking during the meeting, the group’s leadership commended Comrade Waiya’s inclusive leadership style and his accessibility to the people. They noted that his approach has inspired greater public confidence and encouraged stakeholders to support the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in its drive for sustainable development.
Alhaji Hamisu Iyantama stated that the “Tsaya da Kafarka” group would continue to leverage the influence of the Kannywood film industry to promote messages of peace, unity, and public awareness about the Kano State Government’s developmental initiatives.

In his remarks, Comrade Waiya expressed appreciation for the visit and the words of encouragement from the delegation. He acknowledged the vital role of artists and entertainers in shaping public opinion, promoting social values, and supporting development through creative communication.
The Commissioner further announced that his ministry would maintain direct engagement with the group to strengthen cooperation and coordinate activities aimed at effectively showcasing the policies, programmes, and achievements of the Kano State Government.
He emphasized that a stronger partnership between government and stakeholders in the Kannywood industry would enhance communication with citizens and contribute significantly to the state’s overall development agenda.
