Kaduna | July 9, 2026 – The Deputy Governor of Kano State, murtala sule garo , on Thursday represented the Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, at the commissioning of the temporary secretariat of the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum in Kaduna.
The temporary secretariat was commissioned by Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, alongside a fleet of operational vehicles to support the Forum’s activities and strengthen its institutional capacity.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Yusuf, the Deputy Governor commended the Northern Governors for their shared commitment to deepening regional cooperation and promoting coordinated solutions to the socio-economic, developmental, and security challenges facing Northern Nigeria.
He noted that the establishment of the temporary secretariat marks a significant step towards enhancing collaboration among the 19 Northern states, improving policy coordination, and ensuring the effective implementation of regional development initiatives.
The event brought together governors, deputy governors, senior government officials, and key stakeholders from across Northern Nigeria, reaffirming their collective resolve to foster unity, peace, sustainable development, and inclusive growth throughout the region.
