One Kano Agenda wishes to sincerely commend and appreciate the patriotic and commendable effort of popular Kano-born social media influencer and humanitarian, Dan Bello, for the recent renovation and remodeling of a public primary school in Kano State. Reports indicate that the project, has significantly improved the learning environment for pupils and teachers and demonstrated a strong commitment to community development and public service. At a time when many public schools continue to face infrastructural challenges, such an intervention deserves recognition, encouragement, and support from all well meaning individuals and organizations. The effort by Dan Bello reflects the spirit of collective responsibility and community driven development which Kano State and Nigeria at large urgently require.
One Kano Agenda believes that meaningful societal progress cannot be achieved by government alone. Citizens who use their influence, resources, and platforms to support education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and social development should be encouraged rather than discouraged. Constructive contributions to society, regardless of the background of the individual making them, should always be acknowledged in good faith. We have also observed the controversies generated online regarding the colors used in painting the renovated classrooms. It is important to state clearly that the use of multiple bright colors in nursery, primary, and secondary schools has been a long-standing educational and architectural practice across Nigeria and many parts of the world, even long before recent global conversations around LGBTQ issues emerged. Such colors are commonly used to create attractive, stimulating, and child-friendly learning environments. Associating every use of colorful designs with any ideological agenda is unfair, unnecessary, and capable of discouraging future acts of goodwill and philanthropy.
We are not aware of any statement, publication, or conduct by Dan Bello supporting LGBTQ activities or promoting values contrary to the moral and cultural principles of our society. It is therefore important that public discourse remains fair, objective, and focused on the positive impact of the project itself.
One Kano Agenda calls on other influential individuals, successful professionals, business leaders, politicians, and public figures from Kano State to emulate this noble gesture by investing in community development projects that directly benefit ordinary people, especially in the education sector. Even small contributions toward improving schools, healthcare facilities, water supply, and youth development can have a lasting positive impact on society. As a people, we must learn to encourage good deeds, celebrate positive examples, and build a culture where acts of service to humanity are appreciated and supported. Excessive criticism, insults, and unfounded allegations against individuals making positive contributions may discourage others from stepping forward to help society.
One Kano Agenda remains committed to promoting unity, development, patriotism, good governance, and collective responsibility for the progress of Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.
