
The Kano State Government has reiterated its commitment toward promoting professionalism and strengthening the media and advertising sector in the state.
This was disclosed yesterday when the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, represented His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, at the Dinner and Award Night organized by the Advertising Practitioners Association Kano.
Speaking during the event, the Commissioner highlighted several initiatives introduced by the present administration to improve professionalism within the information and advertising industry. He noted that the establishment of the Kano State Advertising and Signage Agency reflects the government’s commitment toward regulating and advancing the sector.
According to him, the Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs has also supported many media and communication practitioners across the state to register with the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), enabling them to obtain recognized professional licenses and strengthen their careers in advertising practice.
In a further demonstration of support for professional bodies and sectoral development, the Commissioner announced a donation of ₦10 million on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to support the association and its activities.
The event also featured the presentation of an Award of Excellence to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in recognition of his leadership qualities, support for professionalism, and contributions toward inclusive development in the media and advertising sector.
The evening was marked by excitement, engagement, and renewed commitment among stakeholders toward excellence and national development.
