A former Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership, Nasir Bala Aminu (Ja’o’ji), has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the Tarauni Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
His emergence followed a transparent and widely accepted consensus process among party stakeholders, supervised by Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf. Ja’o’ji secured the endorsement of 16 out of 19 key stakeholders from the constituency.
The consensus arrangement, described as peaceful and strategic, was embraced by other aspirants who agreed it would strengthen the party’s chances in the forthcoming elections.
Governor Yusuf commended the aspirants for their maturity and unity, assuring them of inclusiveness and collaboration in the political process. He emphasized that all parties involved remain critical partners in the development of the constituency and the state.
In his acceptance remarks, Ja’o’ji expressed gratitude to stakeholders and party loyalists for their confidence in his leadership. He pledged commitment to inclusive representation and continuous consultation with political leaders and constituents.
“I assure you of my total commitment and loyalty to our collective cause. I will ensure that experienced voices are always consulted in legislative matters,” he stated.
Ja’o’ji also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for promoting youth inclusion in governance, noting that his candidacy reflects the growing opportunities for young leaders under the Renewed Hope agenda.
Other aspirants, in their remarks, applauded the governor’s role in ensuring a smooth consensus process and pledged their full support for Ja’o’ji’s candidacy.
