A political advocacy group, One Kano Agenda (OKA), has commended the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for nominating Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor, describing the move as strategic and reflective of inclusive governance.
In a statement signed by its Director General, Abbas Abdullahi Yakasai, the group said the nomination demonstrates foresight and a commitment to strengthening the state’s leadership structure.
OKA noted that the decision aligns with the broader objective of enhancing governance through experienced leadership capable of connecting policy direction with grassroots realities.

According to the group, the governor’s action underscores a clear understanding of the political and administrative demands of Kano State, emphasizing that such a critical position requires competence, loyalty, and strong ties to the people.
“The nomination of Hon. Murtala Sule Garo is a commendable step toward consolidating governance and enhancing administrative coordination. It reflects a deliberate effort to prioritize capacity and experience in advancing the state’s development agenda,” the statement read.
The group further highlighted Garo’s track record in public service and political engagement, describing him as well-positioned to support the governor’s vision for sustainable development and responsive governance.

It also called on political stakeholders across party lines to support the nomination, stressing the need for unity and collective responsibility in achieving long-term progress and stability in the state.
OKA urged political actors to prioritize collaboration over division, noting that effective governance depends on a shared commitment to the welfare of the people.
The group reaffirmed its support for the current administration and pledged continued advocacy for policies that promote inclusiveness, institutional strength, and improved service delivery across Kano State.
It expressed confidence that the nomination would further strengthen governance structures and contribute positively to the administration’s developmental goals
