The Director General of the Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA), Pharm. Gali Sule has disclosed that preparations are in top gear for the agency’s annual celebration in honour of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, scheduled for July 16, 2026.
According to him, this year’s edition will be unique and historic as it coincides with the Governor’s completion of three years in office and marks the last celebration during his first tenure.
He noted that the event has become an annual tradition at the agency, aligning with the anniversary of the current management’s appointment on July 16.
Sule, who spoke on Thursday in Kano, described the forthcoming ceremony as a grand occasion designed to showcase the Governor’s achievements in the health sector, particularly the progress recorded by the agency in carrying out its mandate of ensuring the availability of quality drugs and medical consumables across Kano State.
Gali, expressed optimism that Governor Yusuf would personally attend the event, where stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries would have the opportunity to appreciate the administration’s support and commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in the state.
He further revealed that one of the landmark achievements under the present administration was the clearance of over N1 billion in debts inherited by the agency. He said the liabilities, owed to numerous suppliers before the current administration came into office, have now been fully settled.
Also, he noted that the affected suppliers are delighted with the development and are expected to honour Governor Yusuf with special awards during the celebration in recognition of his commitment to prudent financial management, accountability, and the revitalisation of the agency.
