Your strategic political alignment with the All Progressives Congress remains one of the most decisive and forward thinking choices in contemporary governance. Without such a move, Kano might have been drawn into prolonged political uncertainty, losing valuable time and focus. Instead, your administration has remained steady, development driven, and purposefully aligned with national opportunities.
Within this framework, the Kano First vision has not only survived but has grown stronger and more structured. And here, it is important to acknowledge the intellectual and operational strength behind its communication and execution. Dr. (Amb) Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the Kano State Commissioner for Kano State Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs and the LIMAMIN KANO FIRST, has stood firm with uncommon commitment. With strategic clarity, tireless engagement, and disciplined messaging, he has ensured that the philosophy of Kano First is not reduced to a slogan but translated into a working governance doctrine. His role has been that of a guide, a mobilizer, and a steady voice, aligning public understanding with government action and ensuring that the agenda remains people centered and result oriented.
Today, the Kano First Agenda is not operating in isolation. Its synergy with the Renewed Hope vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has further energized its reach and effectiveness. A clear example is the impactful engagement led by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu during her visit to Kano, where initiatives aimed at social welfare, women empowerment, and youth support injected renewed energy into ongoing programmes. Such interventions are not ceremonial. They are purposeful, expanding the human development dimension of governance and directly improving lives.
Your administration’s achievements remain extensive and undeniable. Across Kano, hundreds of roads have been constructed and rehabilitated, reconnecting communities and boosting commerce. Schools have been revived and new ones established, restoring confidence in public education. Healthcare facilities have been upgraded to serve the growing population more effectively.
More importantly, your government has invested deeply in people. Millions of youths have been empowered through employment opportunities, vocational training, and entrepreneurship support programmes. Through structured interventions and partnerships, including entrepreneurship development platforms, thousands have acquired skills for self reliance. Many have also been sponsored abroad for advanced education, positioning Kano as a producer of globally competitive human capital.
Security has improved significantly under your leadership. Through strong collaboration with security agencies, especially the Nigeria Police, and the strengthening of internal security structures, Kano has become one of the most peaceful states in Northern Nigeria. Stability has returned, and with it, confidence in governance.
In this broader developmental equation, the role of our amiable Deputy Senate President, Barau I. Jibrin Kabo CFR, PhD, FCNA,cannot be overlooked. His outstanding performance at the national level, combined with your leadership at the state level, has created a powerful bridge between Kano and the federal government. This partnership is already translating into accelerated infrastructural projects, increased federal presence, and expanded economic opportunities for the people.
If this trajectory continues, Kano is set to reclaim and even surpass its historic stature as a hub of industrial strength, commercial excellence, educational advancement, political influence, entrepreneurial innovation, and cosmopolitan relevance. The foundations are already visible. The direction is clear.
Your Excellency, leadership is ultimately measured by impact, not intention. And by that standard, your record is compelling.
