The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has welcomed former Governor and Senator, Ibrahim Shekarau, into the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the development as a significant boost to the party’s growing influence in the state.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, Governor Yusuf said Shekarau’s return marks a major step in strengthening the party’s structure and unity in Kano.
He disclosed that arrangements are underway, in collaboration with the party’s national secretariat, to fix a date for the formal reception of the former governor into the APC fold.
According to the Governor, the APC in Kano continues to witness increasing support and consolidation across various political blocs, positioning it as a dominant force ahead of future elections.
Governor Yusuf expressed confidence in the party’s preparedness, noting that APC remains determined to secure victory in all elective positions in upcoming polls. He attributed this optimism to ongoing strategic alignments and internal unity within the party.
He further reassured party members of the leadership’s commitment to deepening cohesion and expanding grassroots support across the state.
Governor Yusuf also urged party faithful to remain steadfast and intensify mobilization efforts as preparations for future political contests gather momentum.
