Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has intensified efforts to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Waiya has been engaging political groups, stakeholders and grassroots mobilisation platforms across Kano State, urging them to rally behind the two leaders and support the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the elections.
The Commissioner has also called on supporters to strengthen their grassroots structures and effectively communicate the policies, programmes and development initiatives of both the Federal Government and the Kano State Government.
He said sustained grassroots engagement and effective communication would help citizens understand the impact of government policies and programmes across the state.
Waiya has also advocated greater political unity and coordinated mobilisation among APC supporters, stressing the need to work collectively towards the success of the party in the 2027 elections.
In recent engagements, the Commissioner has received groups campaigning for Governor Yusuf’s second term and encouraged them to expand their mobilisation activities to communities across the state.
The APC Intellectual Door-to-Door Awareness and Mobilisation Forum (IDAF), for instance, endorsed Governor Yusuf for a second term during a courtesy visit to Waiya and pledged to mobilise support for his administration across Kano.
Similarly, Waiya has engaged former caretaker councillors and women-led political groups, urging them to work together to mobilise grassroots support for Governor Yusuf ahead of the 2027 election.
His mobilisation efforts have also extended to groups advocating support for President Tinubu, with emphasis on strengthening the APC’s grassroots presence and securing electoral support across Kano’s 44 local government areas.
For Waiya, the campaign is not only about electoral mobilisation but also about communicating the development agenda of the Tinubu and Yusuf administrations to the people.
He has maintained that effective communication, grassroots engagement and unity among supporters are essential to ensuring that government policies and programmes are properly understood by citizens.
As political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, Waiya is expected to continue engaging stakeholders and grassroots groups in his efforts to build support for President Tinubu at the federal level and Governor Yusuf in Kano.
His activities have positioned him among government officials and political stakeholders actively mobilising support for the APC and the re-election bids of President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf ahead of the 2027 general elections.
