Kano State has gained international recognition for its ongoing education reforms following its participation in a global roundtable discussion on the Reading Revolution held at the prestigious House of Lords, Westminster, United Kingdom.
The event, hosted by Universal Learning Solutions under the Jolly Phonics Programme and led by Gary Foxcroft, brought together education experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the world to exchange ideas on improving literacy and reading outcomes.
During the discussions, Kano State was highlighted for its exceptional performance in education reform and its successful adoption of innovative reading techniques aimed at strengthening foundational literacy among school children.
The gathering featured presentations by Sir Nick Gibb, former United Kingdom Minister of Schools, and Lord Alton of Liverpool, who shared insights into England’s successful transformation of reading into a key benchmark for educational achievement.
Representing Kano State at the international event were Dr. Haladu Mohammed, Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Auwalu, and another member of the state’s delegation. Their participation underscored Kano’s commitment to learning from global best practices while showcasing the state’s achievements in educational development.
