Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, joined top figures of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the official flag-off of the re-election campaign of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

The event, held at the Parapo Pavilion in Ado Ekiti, marked the formal commencement of Oyebanji’s bid for a second term on the APC platform ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago’s presence underscored solidarity among APC governors and the party’s collective commitment to sustaining development across Ekiti State.

Addressing supporters, APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, expressed confidence in Oyebanji’s re-election, citing his performance in office and widespread grassroots support. He assured that the party’s national leadership would provide full backing to secure victory at the polls.

Similarly, Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, alongside Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, who leads the National Campaign Council, commended Oyebanji’s achievements, particularly in infrastructure development. They urged Ekiti voters to support continuity through his re-election.

In his remarks, Governor Oyebanji appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his administration’s support and commitment to Ekiti’s growth. He pledged to build on existing progress and deliver more dividends of democracy if re-elected.

The campaign event attracted several APC governors, party chieftains, lawmakers, and key stakeholders, reflecting strong party unity ahead of the polls.
