The Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, has commended the Kano State Government for its commitment to advancing skills development and youth empowerment through strategic initiatives.
The Minister gave the commendation during a visit to the Aliko Dangote Skills Acquisition Centre in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area, shortly after the closing session of the North West Energize Commercialization Initiative.
The visit, which was undertaken alongside members of the organizing committee, provided an opportunity for the Minister to assess firsthand the impact of ongoing programmes at the centre. He praised the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for its efforts in promoting innovation-driven development and equipping young people with practical skills.
According to the Minister, the visit was also crucial in identifying areas where the Federal Government can provide additional support to enhance the initiative and expand its reach.
He noted that the Energize Commercialization Now programme aligns closely with the objectives of the centre, particularly in fostering innovation, encouraging commercialization, and creating sustainable economic opportunities for Nigerian youths.
The engagement highlights a growing synergy between federal and state governments aimed at building a robust ecosystem where innovation can translate into tangible economic growth.
Stakeholders at the event expressed optimism that the collaboration would accelerate progress in skills acquisition and innovation, particularly in the North West region.
The initiative is expected to play a key role in shaping a new generation of entrepreneurs and skilled professionals, as efforts continue to drive inclusive development.
The journey, stakeholders say, has only just begun.
