The Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kano State, Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, SAN, today attended the swearing-in ceremony of thirty (30) newly appointed Sharia Court Judges in Kano State.
The judges were sworn in by the Honourable Chief Judge of Kano State, Hon. Justice Dije Abdu Aboki, at the Ceremonial Court, High Court of Justice Premises, Audu Bako Secretariat, Kano.
The ceremony represents a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen the administration of justice, particularly within the Sharia judicial system in the state, in line with the desire of the administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to ensure a more efficient, accessible, and people-oriented justice system in Kano State.
In his remarks, the Attorney General congratulated the newly appointed judges and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with utmost integrity, impartiality, and a deep sense of accountability. He emphasized the need for adherence to the principles of justice, fairness, and the rule of law, while also calling on them to uphold the ethical standards expected of judicial officers and to ensure that their courts remain pillars of equity and social harmony.
The Attorney General further reiterated the commitment of the Kano State Government to supporting the judiciary in the effective delivery of justice.
The event was graced by the Grand Kadi of Kano State, Tijjani Yusuf Yakasai, Kadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal, Judges of the High Court, as well as other key stakeholders in the justice sector, reflecting the importance of the occasion within the stateโs judicial landscape.
