
The Mutaimaki Kanmu Women’s Group has paid a courtesy visit to the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, where it declared its full support for the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Federal Government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The delegation was led by the group’s Chairperson, Hajiya Hafsat Shehu Adam, who said the visit was aimed at expressing the group’s support and appreciation for the efforts of both administrations towards improving the lives of citizens and promoting development.
Hajiya Hafsat Shehu Adam said the group appreciated the policies and programmes of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, particularly those focused on improving the welfare of the people, supporting women and promoting social development across Kano State.
She also expressed the group’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s economy and promote socio-economic development, stressing that women have an important role to play in supporting the success of government policies and programmes.
The group’s Chairperson called on women and youths to continue to cooperate with and support the government while avoiding the spread of unverified information capable of creating misunderstanding, tension and division within society.
She said the organisation would continue to sensitise its members and the wider public on the importance of peace, unity and support for programmes that would benefit Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.
Responding, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, commended the group for the visit and its expression of support for the two administrations.
Waiya said the support and cooperation of women’s organisations were crucial to strengthening the relationship between government and the people.
He assured the delegation that the Kano State Government would continue to listen to the needs and concerns of the people and implement policies and programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of residents across the state.
The Commissioner appreciated the group for its support for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the gesture as a positive contribution towards strengthening peace, unity and socio-economic development.
He urged the group and other stakeholders to continue promoting responsible communication, peaceful coexistence and constructive engagement in the interest of Kano State and Nigeria.
