One Kano Agenda has congratulated the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, following his conferment with the Best Crisis Communicator Award by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The organisation described the honour as a significant recognition of Comrade Waiya’s contribution to the development of effective public communication and his efforts towards ensuring that citizens receive clear, timely and relevant information, particularly in situations that require careful and strategic communication.
According to One Kano Agenda, effective crisis management goes beyond responding to difficult situations; it also requires the ability to communicate responsibly, manage public expectations and promote understanding among different stakeholders. The organisation believes Comrade Waiya has demonstrated these qualities through his engagement with the media and the wider public.

The organisation said awards of this nature are important because they encourage public officials and communication practitioners to continually improve the quality, credibility and effectiveness of their engagement with the public.

It expressed confidence that the recognition will further inspire him to contribute to constructive communication, peaceful coexistence and responsive governance in Kano State.
