The Kwankwasiyya Shekarau Unity Forum has officially changed its name to Abba Gida-Gida Shekarau Unity Forum, describing the move as a renewed commitment to supporting the administration of Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The announcement was made during a ceremony held at the Kano State Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, where the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, presided over the event and formally unveiled the forum’s new name.
As part of the occasion, the forum presented Comrade Waiya with an award of excellence in recognition of his dedication, outstanding service, and contributions to the success of the Kano State Government.
Speaking at the event, the forum’s leaders praised the Commissioner for his leadership and communication efforts, urging Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to continue giving him full support and retain him in his administration. They described Waiya as one of the key officials whose effective public engagement and relationship with citizens have helped attract greater public confidence and support for the government.
The forum explained that the name change reflects its renewed vision of promoting unity among members, strengthening solidarity, and reaffirming its commitment to supporting the policies and programmes of the Kano State Government.
The leaders and members also reiterated their determination to continue engaging in public enlightenment campaigns, promoting peace and unity, and contributing to the successful implementation of the state’s development agenda across Kano State.
