As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and compliance in public procurement processes across Kano State, the Ministry for Public Procurement, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation (MPPPME) under the leadership of the Honorable Commissioner Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila has today conducted separate bilateral engagement visits to the Council Affairs Directorate and the Ministry of Agriculture.

The engagements form part of the Ministry’s strategic outreach to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) aimed at fostering stronger inter-agency collaboration, enhancing adherence to procurement regulations, and promoting efficient service delivery in government institutions.

During the meetings, Procurement Experts from MPPPME emphasized the importance of strict compliance with established procurement laws, regulations, and due process requirements to ensure value for public resources and improve project implementation outcomes.

MPPPME reiterated that all alternative procurement methods must strictly conform to applicable procurement laws and receive the necessary authorization to safeguard transparency and accountability.

Compliance with the approved procurement requirement is critical in ensuring that due process procedures are fully observed and that projects meet all statutory procurement obligations before reaching the approval stage.

The bilateral engagements provided an opportunity for constructive dialogue, knowledge sharing, and clarification of procurement procedures, while reinforcing the commitment of the Kano State Government to good governance, transparency, and prudent management of public resources.

The MPPPME reaffirmed its dedication to working closely with all MDAs to strengthen procurement system and processes, enhance regulatory compliance, and ensure that government projects are executed in line with established standards for the benefit of the people of Kano State.
