A former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has dismissed moves suggesting the adoption of a consensus candidate within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, reaffirming his determination to contest in the forthcoming governorship race.

Adamu’s reaction follows reports that Ahmed Wadada, allegedly backed by Governor Abdullahi Sule, is being positioned as a consensus candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking through his campaign director, Musa Hussein, Adamu maintained that his team has already secured the party’s nomination form and is fully prepared to participate in the race.

He emphasized that no arrangement or political maneuver would deter his ambition, expressing confidence in securing victory at the polls.

The development signals a likely internal contest within the APC in Nasarawa State, as multiple interests continue to shape the party’s direction ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
