The Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, in collaboration with the Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMG Foundation), organized a one-day technical workshop to discuss the draft framework for the proposed Kano State Humanitarian Intervention Trust Fund.
This initiative aims to address the rising humanitarian challenges in Kano State through innovative partnerships and financing,
Stating critical areas to focus in other to provide quick humanitarian assistance within 24 hours of any emergency.
While in the discussion during the flag off of the workshop the commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and proverty alleviation Hon. Adamu Aliyu Kibiya stated the need to Provide financing for humanitarian response initiatives in Kano State, Support disaster management efforts through rapid response interventions, also enhance the capacity of stakeholders in humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation
In his statement Hon. Adamu Aliyu Kibiya said the Kano State Government has allocated fund for humanitarian interventions in the 2025 budget, highlighting its commitment to addressing humanitarian challenges. Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, Technical Adviser to the Ministry, emphasized the importance of this trust fund in tackling poverty and humanitarian issues in the state .
With support of the partnership the AMG Foundation has pledged support for the establishment of the trust fund, including legislative advocacy and drafting a bill to formally establish the fund. This partnership aims to leverage resources and expertise to enhance the impact of humanitarian interventions in Kano State .
And pledge to Improved Humanitarian Response, enhanced capacity for rapid response to humanitarian crises. Support for poverty alleviation initiatives through strategic partnerships, collaboration with international organizations, such as the United Nations, to leverage resources and expertise.
